Ah, I am going to miss last year's set of trendy colors! How funny when you think back to my first glimpse of them and my initial reaction of "Oookaaaay…" And Kiwi Kiss, which I thought was a disaster–it turned out to be such a cool color. When I first saw it I thought it was an annoying reincarnation of Old Olive and I despaired of even using the one pack I got in the demo-preorder bundle!
I am really glad I got them early last year and had all year to enjoy them. Be sure to check out my Color Club post to find out an inexpensive way to get all six of the new colors and have a fun night out every month.
This card was the result of an experiment to see if Shimmer White paper was really a necessity for the Magic Reinker Spread technique (it really is). This one turned out cool, though, and the paper had a funky texture from being made so wet with the spritzer. I embossed the flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral onto Whisper White cardstock and spritzed them heavily with water, using the tip of my Aquapainter in straight reinker to color them with Apricot Appeal, So Saffron and Kiwi Kiss.
The picture really doesn't do it justice–it turned out awesome. And that crazy Kiwi Kiss was absolutely the perfect touch. Who knew? Wonder what color from this year's batch will be the surprise runaway hit? Care to make a predicton? Leave a comment and I will enter your name in a drawing to win a free pack of Stampin' Dimensionals, the best pop-dots in the whole wide world!
I haven’t heard much chatter about the new Soft Suede in-color but I think it will be a wonderful new neutral that will go with everything. Can’t wait to see all the new colors in person. jmniffer
I would have to say the yellow color. I think currant curry or something like that.
It’s a good life!

I hope it’s dusty durango…it’s the only one I didn’t like immediately. I’d love a reason to like it. 🙂
BTW, you can also do the reinker spread technique with glossy cardstock. 😉
