Hey everyone! Welcome to day two of the fall installment of the bi-annual blog series I put on with my crafty bestie Penni! She's a Halloween baby and I'm a Valentine baby, so twice a year we celebrate "our" holidays with a week of fun projects just for you. I love a good collage, Victorian-inspired card now and again, so I tried my hand at a vintage Halloween card. It was so fun to keep adding layers and textures until it had the feel I wanted.
The real star of the show on this card is the embossing paste background. I used the doilies cardfront piece from the Delightfully Detailed lace paper pack as a stencil for a thin coat of Shimmery White embossing paste. When it was totally dry, I sponged Basic Gray into the empty areas here and there to bring out the pattern. It resulted in a ghostly echo of lace behind my focal point–love it!
Here's the supply list for this one–I used so many different fun trims and bits to get that over-decorated Victorian look. This might be one of those $50 cards!!!

Penni's project for today is a card that looks cool when it's closed… and even cooler when you open it! Love the big orange moon peeking over the trees. She used the Spooky Sweets stamp set and coordinating Spooky Bat Punch along with the Woodland embossing folder and White Craft Ink for this card. Here it is partially opened and set up…
This would be a fun fold for Christmas cards if you have a family picture you want to include, because there's a lot of space inside after it's all opened up (photo below). It has all the area of a regular card as well as the extra fold.
The measurements for this one are super easy–a Basic Black 4.25 x 11 vertical card base, plus a Smoky Slate piece measuring 10.5 x 4 inches. That gets scored at 5.25 and 7 & 7/8ths inches. Adhere the Smoky Slate to the cardfront so that the two shorter panels are hanging down off the bottom edge. Fold them up and attach your moon circle to only the front-most panel. Simple!
