eeky epic adventure: spooky scrapbook spreads

Oct blog series graphic

Welcome back to Day Four of our annual October blog series, put on by myself and my Halloween baby BFF Penni. We had so much fun scrapbooking together for today's projects!

My page is inspired by the Cabana Bay resort at Universal Studios Orlando, which Penni and I visited on a girls weekend in 2016. If you've ever been there, you know the spot-on 1950's vibe it has. doesn't the headline remind you of that era?

The headline actually came about by accident –I needed Large Letters cut for a banner I'll be showing you tomorrow. But on the way to the banner I got distracted by a scrapbook layout! Happy little accidents, as Bob Ross would say : )

Penni did the coolest technique on her headline–spattering Basic Black cardstock letters with a strong Frost White shimmer paint spray with big, drippy splatters. I wish the shine showed up better in the photos. You can see the texture it adds, anyway!

This page is full of details. I collaborated on the little green treat bucket is made from the Takeout Treats box front. Someday I want to do a page with little treat buckets of different sizes and shapes, parading across the bottom of the layout.

The Spooky Bats punch is another great tool for quick embellishing. It punches out three different bats at once, a real timesaver!

The silver gleam of the lettering is echoed by the Glittered Ribbon used for the memo-board style layout. Won't it be fun to tuck pictures of Penni's costumed kids into that page? And such a great technique for scrapbooking.

Ok, that's it for today–it's hard to believe tomorrow is the last day of our series already! Pop back in to see the banner I made and see some out-of-the-box accessories Penni put into action for her final projects. Thanks for stopping and sharing with us today!
