Easy Star-Shaped Card

IMG_4797

Made this super-fun card to share at my team meeting last night. we had such a good time I forgot to take any other pictures!! Oh well. I will try to get them to share them on our Facebook page so you can see what all we made.

I used the new Star Framelits for the Big Shot to cut layers from Hello Honey and Whisper White, then just adhered them in alternating patterns, with a tiny star punch from Glimmer Paper in the center and a saying from And Many More on the banner.

To make the star into a card, cut two of the largest size and score one of them (the back one) across from one side of a point to the other. Adhere the scored flap to the back of the front star, so that when you open it, it looks like this:

I cut another Whisper White star one size smaller than the largest one so I have a nice writing area inside my card. Then I had to make a custom 5×5 inch envelope for this card, using my handy-dandy Envelope Punch Board. Love that thing!

Here's a supply list so you can make easy star-shaped cards at home, too. And if you don't have the Star Framelits, any framelit will actually work with this technique–or you can place an order on my Stampin' Up shopping site by clicking any of the links below to go see the store.
