Easy Ombre

IMG_3381

I saw so many cute ombre examples at Leadership Conference last week, that I had to come right home and make one straight away. We are making this in all my clubs this week as our "starter" (easy) card. Have you tried this trendy new technique yet? Stampin' Up's gorgeously coordinated colors make it easy! For this card, I used Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay cardstocks. And look, I even have the measurements for you!

  • Card base: 8.5×5.5 inches, folded in half
  • Mat Layer: 4×5.25 inches (Whisper White)
  • Three colored pieces: 3.75×1.5 inches (adhere the top and bottom ones first, then split the difference to place the middle one between them)

TIP: To ensure the circles were punched so they'd be in a straight line when adhered to the card, I slid each strip into the punch as far as it would go. Since each strip slides to the end and stops, the punched holes wind up in the same spot every time!

For your ordering convenience, here's a complete supply list. The Petite Petals stamp set and coordinating punch I used for this card are available separately or as a bundle, which saves you 15%! As with everything you see on my blog, all supplies are available to purchase on my shopping website. Click any link below to visit it!

  1. I like this! I am not sure if it would be termed easy since you have to come up with the color combos etc. Thanks for the tip about inserting the paper all the way in so they circles line up. Sort of a duh, why didn’t I think about that! I usually do the strips vertically but I like the horizontal version better. Thanks!
