I inadvertently WOW'd a bunch of customers at my three workshops this weekend with a technique I didn't know they didn't know! Did YOU know that you can make a Versamark embossing ink cartridge? You sure can! Stampin' Up sells blank cartridges for both sizes of our Stampin' Around wheels. Just get your Versamark reinker out and fill that cartridge with the refill and you're good to go. I love embossing with a wheel because it's super fast.
This Bermuda Bay birthday card goes together in a flash–just wheel the design along the left hand side (I used the Whimsy wheel for this one) and heat emboss with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I like adding sparkle this way because the glitter melts to the card and STAYS PUT! Instead of migrating to your left eyebrow or your decolletage….
Then you punch a 1 3/8 inch circle in your card front and a matching size circle in a coordinating color. I used Brushed Silver cardstock for that and the Small Star punches just to add some more bling. The next size circle punch down was used to punch out the sentiment from the adorable Birthday Bliss stamp set (yep, it's the one you can choose for free with Sale A Bration right now!). Then I just added a little twist of Bermuda Bay polka-dotted grosgrain ribbon and it's done.
Embossing is a little messy but not too bad if you have the Powder Pal trays–and the results are so worth it! I still get excited after all these years when I see it melt onto the paper. What technique or stamp set have you rediscovered lately?
This card is really cute and I don’t think I realized that you could make a Versamark ink cartridge. That is a wonderful idea. I’ll have to try it. Thanks for sharing!!!
What a CUTE, CUTE, CUTE card! Can’t wait to CASE!
