We saved Epcot for last on our 2012 Disney incentive trip, and we weren't sure we were going to make it to our fourth straight day of all-day parks! But we did do a quick walk around the circle of nations, and a couple of rides. Soarin' was broken, and we never did find where to get on the monorail, so we'll just have to go back : )
It was the International Flower Festival at Epcot, so we saw some incredible displays! There were even floating rafts of flowers in the river. And topiaries of Disney characters all over the place. We spent quite a while in the butterfly house.
The kids and Mom and I really enjoyed going up in the "ball"–such an icon (and we got to skip the line because of the wheelchair. Glad there's SOME perks to that thing!) I wish we'd had more time to spend on the science things, but we had to keep truckin'. It will be more fun to visit Epcot when my kids are old enough to be a little more adventurous with their food choices, too! I wanted to stop and try everything in the different nations! And I really missed Mike that day… my geography and history buff would have really loved this park.
This was my favorite topiary. I love the sea grass for Lady's long cocker spaniel ears! And we all really enjoyed the Nemo ride and Turtle Talk with Crush. The kids (ok, me too) were just astounded that the characters on the screen could actually interact with people sitting in the audience. Wild! And there were some really fascinating creatures in the real live aquariums, too.
Most importantly, this was the day of the Princess Lunch! A friend suggested we try to get in to this at Epcot instead of Magic Kingdom (thanks Jane!) and there was an opening. Natalie was so cute with each of the princesses. They stayed in character while they talked to her and posed for pictures.
My favorite part was when one of the princesses said, "Well, hello, Handsome" to Daniel and he blushed to the roots of his hair. He'd just bought this Viking helmet right before lunch so that "everyone will know I'm not there to see the princesses."
And last but not least… a food picture! This was our dessert tray. The food was scrumptious–I had just assumed it would be secondary to the princesses, but everything was really good.
Then it was back to the Boardwalk for a quick clean up, treat the sunburn I finally managed to get on the last day (wouldn't be a Florida vacation without it, would it now?) and get ourselves on the bus for the Final Night Event… what could it be???
