I am so glad so many of you are enjoying the Mega Tote photo tutorial I put together for you! I TOLD you those bags were addicting! I am looking forward to teaching them again Saturday at the scrapbooking retreat I am at as you read this. Hopefully I am getting a lot accomplished this weekend. Stay tuned Monday and Tuesday for an update on that!
Well, I got this bright idea, as I occasionally do, and I made the tote out of that terribly cute polka-dotted acetate sheet that comes with the new black and white papers (hmm… what ARE those papers names? and WHERE did my Holiday Mini go?) in the mini catalog. You get two bonus sheets of 12×12 acetate in that pack–way cool! I hope they keep doing that.
So to photograph the crazy thing, I had to stuff it with tissue paper or it wouldn't even show up. Isn't it cute? I just love it. Well, then I had to make some cards to go in it, of course… So I made some fun cards out of the strips of paper that are left when you cut out the bags. So easy and classy! I did a fun thing on these which is not showing up in the photo, unfortunately–I used my ZIG Painty pen (silver side) to spatter the cards with silver drops by whacking it sharply downward onto my bone folder. It was a little messy but very fun, and the effect is pretty cool! SU doesn't carry the Painty any more, unfortunately, but you can find one in any craft store.
And I had one little strip of acetate left, so I made this card to go to the recipient of the tote: Love that Pretties Kit. I have to say that is one item that has really stepped my crafting up a notch–and it was painless! Honest! You need to try these. You will start looking around for things to put them on. You will find yourself pulling out old projects and sprucing them up with this kit. Call me today to order one if you have not already discovered that it totally rocks!
Your black & white cards are so elegant! Love the tote! Splattering painty pens sounds like fun to me!!!
