Simple card, eh? Lots of hidden details though!
TIP: We made this card at Create A Card Club in Fort Atkinson in July, and I was pleased as punch to be able to teach the members how to antique the edges of a project without sponging or distressing. We used the Aquapainter brushes and the Regals Watercolor Wonder Crayons in More Mustard to add subtle shading to this piece of Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper. It's so easy to blend, shade, layer, and add or subtract color as desired, with the Aquapainters! They are my very favorite coloring tool, so I was delighted to discover another way to use them.
We also had a lot of fun with some new products straight out of the 2012 Holiday Catalog–the Woodgrain embossing folder on the Big Shot (with the Labels Collection Framelits and the Apothecary Art stamp set); the new Core'dinations cardstock in Early Espresso with our awesome new sanding system; and the cute new Pewter finish ribbon slides as an embellishment.
One more thing to point out–see the ribbon? Normally, that running stitch down the center is a nice crisp white. Well, obviously, that wouldn't do for this creamy antiqued card! We just took the So Saffron pale yellow marker and dyed it simple and easily. Love that!
