Another baby shower–and an invitation

That's three in three months, and another one coming up after June sometime… we're having a baby boom at our little church! This one was for an as-yet-unknown-gender baby and had a jungle baby theme that was super fun to work with. I didn't have a lot of time to do many hand-stamped decorations for this one, especially since I had already found the perfect paper goods, but I did want to show you part of my gift to the mom, which was these frames.

I always make a pre-made scrapbook (and ALWAYS forget to take pictures of it to show you!) for the new babies in our church, with everything done in advance so all the mom has to do is glue pictures in and add a wee bit of journalling. But I had found these adorable jungle animal pre-painted wood cutouts at Hobby Lobby for just .67 cents each, and together with dollar-store 5×7 frames, a glue gun, some colorful papers, and my Big Shot Serif Essentials Alphabet dies, I made a decoration for the shower that can be used in the new nursery, too. aren't they cute? And it was SO stinkin' easy–seriously done in a half hour, tops. If you knew the baby's name, you could personalize these, too.

So thanks to some balloons, scrumptious cakes, lots of generous gift-givers, a cute-as-a-bug pregnant lady, and Natalie's willingness to loan Mommy her precious stuffed monkey collection for the afternoon, the shower was a success!

Now on to the next one–a cupcake-themed Mother-Daughter Luncheon doubling as a baby shower for a crisis pregnancy center in Madison. If you're in the area and interested in coming to hear the center's director, Andrea Koenig, admission to the luncheon is a suggested donation of one baby item such as diapers, wipes, formula, etc. We will be taking up an offering to be given to the center's general fund as well. I would be beyond thrilled to have you as my guest!

Come and enjoy the gormuet cupcakes and decorating creativity, all for a good cause! April 30th, 2011 at eleven a.m., First Baptist Church of Fort Atkinson, WI. RSVP through me at zwolaneks@att.net
