Hi everyone! I am having the time of my LIFE here in Hawaii! I have to say, Hawaii has blown away all my expectations. Mike and I are enjoying every second of this honeymoon. I have so much to tell you all I don't know where to start! I have just ten minutes of internet time, so please forgive any typos and just chalk it up to sheer excitement.
I'm just going to hit a few highlights right now and I'll expand on them in future posts when I get back. Here's some of the amazing things we've seen and done just since Monday a.m.!
Whales spouting and breeching off the point of the bay right within sight, kayaking with sea turtles in the ocean-fed lagoon–sea eels, schools of tropical fish, etc swimming alongside. Sea turtles are COOL!We've also seen the nene–Hawaii state bird, various other tropical birds, a mongoose, donkey, zebra, lots of cows and goats, and the resort cats. Spent quite a time today watching the dolphins. Lots of cool wildlife and all of it just as entrancing as the views.
Kona coffee, guava juice, maladsadas (like sugar-coated donuts with fresh fruit fillings in them) FRESH pineapples, papayas, guavas, mangoes–just amazing food and seafood to die for. Had a fabulous dinner with Vice President Pam Morgan–curried crab soup, seafood pasts with lobster, crab, mussels and shrimp, fresh pineapple sorbet and key lime pie.
FLOWERS everywhere, amazing bushes and trees of things that i've only seen as houseplants back home! We got the traditional lei welcome at the airport, and they leave flowers on your bed every day for you to wear on your hair (Mike declined).
A gift on our beds every evening–awesome acheivers bag and a spouse/guest duffle bag as well. Last night we got a Hawaii snac k collection traditionally wrapped in ti leaves and lied with raffia and a hibiscous flower–too pretty to unwrap! It makes heading back to your room every night so fun.
Volcanoes–we saw all five of them yesterday on a round-island trip. we also walked through a lava tube (amazing), saw a steam vent up close and personal and learned all about volcanoes. We also saw multiple astounding gorgeous waterfalls, African tuplip trees, reams and reams of flowers and of course many palms. The ocean has been very high so the waves have been just awesome to watch.
Well, I am sure my ten minutes are very close to up and I have so much more to say! I will just have to be content to telly ou when I get back. Oh and we saw TWO celebrities on the plane coming here! How fun! I am off to do Make N Takes now… I can't tell you about the sneak peeks we saw in the General session, but I will saw you will NOT be disappoined in what's coming next! And the new In Colors are just to die for! I think they're my favorite yet!
Aloha and MAHALO, my friends, for making this dream come true!
In Colours to die for…I thought Wild Wasabi and Cool Caribbean were great. Wasn’t too thrilled about the in colours we have right now. Oh, I so wish someone would spill the beans.
I am so excited for you and Mike! Also jelous. Sounds absolutely awesome! Can’t wait to hear all about it!
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing all those wonderful Hawaii pictures. I didn’t get to go myself, but I enjoyed looking at your pic tremendously. This was obviously a very memorable trip and I was happy to get a glimpse of it through your blog!
Welcome back home!
