A Musical Cardinal Christmas

DSCF5432 copy

I'm humming Christmas carols and my house was filled with the smells of Christmas cookies baking this weekend–know why I'd be doing such a thing in September? Tonight is Christmas Club! Join us and make 12 cards each month–four each of three designs–for the next three months–I have one spot open!

Here's a card we're going to be making tonight. It's a lighter, updated take on a vintage Christmas card, using vintage-style images, papers and trims, but a modern layout and cooler color scheme of Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler. The stamp set is A Cardinal Christmas (catalog page 39) and I've embossed the main image in Basic Black. It looks awesome colored with our vibrant, rich markers.

I love the classy accent of the self-adhesive pearls on the Always Artichoke seam binding ribbon from the Holiday Mini. We'll be stamping and sponging the Newsprint DSP with Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke to help it soften and blend with our colors. I love the musical motif on these pages. I tell you, that Newsprint DSP was just the best new product this year!
