We had a great meeting in January and I just had to share the projects. We can squeeze in a couple more members if you'd like to join us and get some scrapping done once a month!
This page is done with Cottage Wall DSP and the Beautiful Butterflies die for the Big Shot. We ran the centers of these butterflies through with the new Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and then sponged them to show off the textures.
Everyone could spell out what they wanted to say in tag punches for the headline, but I had "spring" on the brain! We also used the new Beautiful Wings embosslit to make miniature butterflies to scatter on the photographs when the page is completed.
This is a really fun "scatter" page, so called because you just cut all your pieces and then scatter them on the page, rearranging until you like the "random" effect. We used several papers from the new Sale A Bration double-sided paper stack, and since quite a few of them have a little house motif, I made this be a page about our home.
We enjoyed punching various hearts to spill out of the Scallop Envelope, and stapling several colors of narrow grosgrain ribbon along the edge of one of the photo mats. You can't see it too well in this photo, but there is also paper piercing around two of the mats and some tone-on-tone Pumpkin Pie brads, too. Lots of little touches here!
The letters were cut from white cardboard with the Serif Essentials alphabet for the Big Shot. This is the PERFECT time to get this Sizzix alphabet if you are considering it, because you'd get 3 Sale A Bration free choices with it, plus hostess benefits!
Since many of us are still finishing up Christmas photos (or haven't started yet, in my case), we made this fun spread from the Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit. Everyone got to take home three sheets full of self-adhesive, die cut elements like the ornaments, circles, journalling boxes and decorative border strips seen on this page. even the "Dec. 25th" headline was part of the kit. I swear, the Simply Scrappin' Kits are the BEST deal in the whole catalog!
Everything you see above came with the kit, except the photo corner punches, the Linen Thread used to tie up the ornaments, and the three Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware star brads along the left-most photo mat. These kits make pages come together in a flash!
Great pages! I haven’t done much scrapbooking with SU yet but looking forward to getting into it!
Oh, Lyssa, I LOVE the scattered hearts coming from the Scallop Envelope! I CASEd it and made a card! http://heartsdelightcards.blogspot.com/2010/02/lots-of-love.html
