The spread I'm sharing with you this week is called a Mirror Image layout. The right hand page and the left hand page are mirror images of each other. I like to use this layout when I have two of something–say an embellishment, or a small piece of really great DSP–and there is no good way to show them off without violating the designer's Rule of Threes (things look much more natural and are more visually pleasing in groups of odd numbers rather than even).
But when you break a rule on purpose, knowing what you are doing and the look you want to achieve in the end, the results can be awesome! There's an exception to everything in scrapping.
So–to get this look, cut two of everything, and choose a headline that you can stamp evenly in either two parts or composed of two words that can be split up. Give everything equal weight. The eye will go to the headlines first, then to the two round photos, the five secondary photos, and finally to the journalling.
Because this mirror-imaging is visually distracting, keep the colors and patterns to a minimum, and don't overdo the embellishments. The mats on the round photos should be the brightest colors on the page. The rest of the mats should all be the same color, and more subdued.
