Vellum base floating card

Super pretty, hey? I’m adoring the sunny cheerfulness of the Floral Delight suit collection from Stampin’ Up, new in the spring 2025 mini catalog. I just LOVE yellow (as you’ll see if you ever get to visit me at Embellish in downtown Watertown, Wisconsin!) so these papers and the coordinating vellum pack are right up my alley.

This card base is made from 11 x 4 inches of transparent printed vellum, so it’s really unusual and fun! The secret to the magic is to hide the interior portion of the card behind the exterior, so no writing accidentally shows through the vellum. The reason it is only 4 inches wide instead of the typical 4.25 inches is so that you can get three card bases from a sheet of 12×12 vellum.

It’s really cool and I hope you try it!

  • 4 x 11 inch card base of Floral & Gingham vellum LIGHTLY scored and folded in half.
  • Cut two Lemon Lolly pieces 2.75 x 4.5
  • Cut two Basic White 2.5 x 4.25 inches.
  • Cut one Floral Delight patterned paper piece 2.25 x 4 inches for the cover.
  • Stamp and adhere white to mats
  • Center and adhere mats to card inside and out using mini glue dots.
  • Strips behind the word dies (Delightful Wishes bundle) are 1 & 3/8ths by 3 & 5/8ths and 3/4ths inch by 3 & 5/8ths inches.
  • Finished card is 4 x 5.5 inches.

Thanks for popping into my corner of the internet today! I appreciate you! Have a great day.
