I've been making some of these to see if they sell at the big craft show on November 6th, 2010. I hope they do–but even if they don't, they are so fun to make, and I can use them for gifts as I know several moms-to-be and grandmas-to-be!
If you're interested, I posted a PDF of instructions on how to make these albums from ten clear translucent envelopes, some cardstock, and the Crop A Dile in this post from just under a year ago…
Here's the boy version…. cute, huh? I am getting so much good out of the alphabet sets I bought for my Big Shot. Here's some more albums I have been working on for the craft fair–some are blank, ready to scrap albums (coordinating papers placed in the page protectors), and others are completely finished books (just insert photos).
I attached the mats and letters to the album with the new multi-purpose adhesive sheets, so they are on there GOOD. And then I coated the letters with Crystal Effects so that they will last a long time. See the cool turquoise felt scalloped border on this one, peeking out from behind the Striped Wide Old Olive grosgrain ribbon? Multi-purpose adhesive sheet, felt, and the Tasteful Trims die! Awesome!
These are ready to go school scrapbook albums, made with the School Days Simply Scrappin' kit. They would make the best gifts! Literally all you would have to do is add the photos and you'd have a totally finished album. Same deal with the letters here, only I sprinkled some Dazzlin' Diamonds onto the Crystal Effects before it dried.
I had quite a stock of inexpensive little 6×6 albums I have picked up here and there and decided it was time to clean out. My crafting space is really small and I have to be picky about what I choose to take up space in there!
Here's a few more–I love how the cover of this one turned out.
I'm just crazy about my friend Dani's seasonal scrapbook idea. She has a fall album that she puts on her coffeee table every autumn and she adds one spread with the most current photos of her adorable little boy to it each year. When he is ready to go off into the wide world on his own, he'll have this awesome, chronological scrapbook of himself. And she doesn't get overwhelmed trying to scrap every single moment of his childhood.
Isn't that just awesome? Actually I kind of hope this album doesn't sell… because I want to keep it for me! Except I'd need two, one for both kids!
See, I TOLD you I was being a busy beaver!! And this isn't even half the albums I've worked on, much less the cards and other 3-D items. I am really hoping for my best fair ever. Hope you can make it to the Craft Fair at Maranatha on November 6th–be sure to say hi–I'm right inside the front door, so you can't miss me.
Ok now, back to the mines… I have lots more on my list to get done before the fair!
Wow! I would love to check out all your lovely goodies at the fair … but me thinks it is a little far to travel (from OZ). But … I hope it is really successful for you Lyssa! Hugs xxaxx
