I TOLD you I was in the swap mines this week! This is another one of my Leadership Conference swaps. I made 20 of these using the brand new "Vintage Quirky" style set called Rue Des Fleurs (page 22-23 in the new 2012 Occasions Mini) and the Clearly for You set (136, idea Book & Catalog).
I used the faux silk with coffee filters technique after stamping a collage of vintage images from those two sets in Basic Gray and Melon Mambo. It still looked a little sparse, so I wheeled the filters with the Very Vintage jumbo Stampin' Around wheel with a Pretty in Pink cartridge.
I got to play with the new Adorning Accents embossing folders on the Big Shot, too. Love that we have Adorning Accents Edgelits if you want to trim out that pretty scalloped edge, too! But I didn't use them on this card. I need to pace myself. For demos, a new Mini Catalog is like a kid at Christmas with too many toys! What do you play with first???
It still needed something…so out came my fun Melon Mambo-coordinating embossing powder again, and I added the little butterfly on the left. I think it was just the perfect finishing touch! What do you think? TIP: So often when I add one final thing, I am disappointed and wish I hadn't done it! Here's a tip for you. Stamp your image or lay the embellishment you are considering on your Stamp A Ma Jigg imaging sheet (or a piece of acetate Window Sheet) and lay it over your card. You'll be able to see right away if the stamp will add or detract from the final project!
Nice, I will look for you at Leadership. I enjoyed swapping with you at Convention. I will be staying for regionals and was asked to demonstrate a wow in a booth there. I think it will be fun.
