Excited to play with my new Papillion Potpurri set and coordinating butterfly punch, and share with you some more one-layer+ cards. You can see a previous post about these by clicking here. My colors were just Bashful Blue and Marina Mist, and these cards were even quicker because I used the pre-made Whisper White notecards and envelopes instead of cutting and folding my own cards.
I used the new One in A Million stamp set for the inner and outer messages–love a word set that contains both! See page 135 for the inside sentiments.
When you're dealing with just one layer and one item popped up, it's all about the layout and placement of those images. Here's four designs to help you get started–now go make a bunch of cards in short order!
TIP: when creating one-layer cards, always use your darkest ink color for the sentiment stamp. Steer away from the very darkest inks as they may bleed through to the inside, especially with our new Firm Foam lovely juicy ink pads! And you can't go wrong with two shades of the same hue, but if you don't have two coordinating colors, you can always "stamp off" the first ink onto scratch paper, and then stamp your card with the remaining, toned-down ink.
These are lovely!!
Lyssa, I really love these cards! Thanks for sharing 🙂 They are so simple but elegant.
These “simple” cards are so elegant and lovely! Thanks for all your inspiration!
