Rainbow of Ribbons

DSCF1212 copy
Don't ask me where I came up with this card, because I have no idea. it just seemed like the thing to do at the time! Although I just did a big ribbon share, so there is a wide range of pretty color in my stamp room to play with right now. That probably had me thinking of rainbows.

I mixed three different ribbon styles–stitched satin, stitched narrow grosgrain, and scallop dotted grosgrain–in 9 different colors to make my rainbow. Then I stitched it down twice with my sewing machine, using two different stitches. The right edge, along the opening of the card, is adhered with Sticky Strip, but the left ends are all loose for some fun and funky movement.

I played around with the sentiment placement (from Loving Thoughts) but wound up stamping it on white cardstock for an additional banner in a tone-on-tone look. A button seemed like an appropriate way to finish off a card with both stitching and textiles!
