Welcome to my summer blog series, 31 Pages in 31 Days! Every day in the month of August 2012, I'll be sharing a scrapbook page with the ultimate goal of completing the challenge I set forth for my Scrapbooking Summer school participants. Today's page is actually two pages–a spread, we call that. This is the left hand page, and here's the second layout.
Couple nifty things to point out to you… the leaves are from the new exclusive die in the 2012 Holiday Catalog, and I embossed them in the Big Shot using the Elegant Lines folder. I chose four autumn colors–Cajun Craze, Awlays Artichoke, More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler, to complement the Soft Suede background and the Crumb Cake color of the Natural Composition specialty papers (woodgrain pattern along the bottom of both pages).
The other spiffy thing about this spread is the sponging and stencilling. After I cut the leaves on the Big Shot, I decided to use the "negative" (the cardstock left around the leaf holes) as a stencil to put some leaves subtly into the background. It really added a lot of dimension! So there you go, don't pitch your scraps, right?
I hope you enjoyed today's page(s) and will be back tomorrow and every day in August for another one! Please spread the word about this fun blog series by clicking the "like" button at the bottom of this (or any) of my posts.
So pretty!! Love this series!
I am really enjoying your scrapbook pages. Thanks for sharing.
