Welcome to Day Two of the blog series that's going to save your bacon this Christmas! Song of My Heart Stampers will be your one-stop shop for super quick, practical Christmas projects you can pull off in a half hour or less and make it look like you've got everything under control.
As promised, today I'm sharing a three-minute Christmas card. Now, stop shaking your head–it's NOT too late for you to send handmade cards this year! and yes, I really do mean three minutes. But it's not three minutes and "oh well, at least we sent something out this year," it's three minutes and "Holy cannoli! This Christmas card rocks!"
I estimate you can make ten of these in thirty minutes. So get out five sheets of Whisper White cardstock and cut them in half horizontally. You'll also need white ribbon (I used Whisper White Organza), a smallish snowflake or otherwise-holiday themed stamp and a sentiment stamp, a mid-size circle or square punch, a colored embossing powder, and Versamark embossing ink. Six ingredients to make this recipe! That's it! Oh and a heat tool, of course!
Step One: Fold card in half and punch a window through from the upper center of the card.
Step Two: Stamp the snowflake through the window onto the back of the card, using Versamark ink.
Step Three: Stamp the sentiment across the lower middle front of the card.
Step Four: Sprinkle with embossing powder, shake off excess, and heat set.
Step Five: Cut a small slit in the spine of the card right across from the punched window.
Step Six: Tie two knots of white ribbon, one passing through the spine, and one going around the outside edge of the card. Trim the ends off at an angle.
Step Seven: Sign, insert into envelopes, slap a stamp on that puppy and put it in the mail!
There! and you thought that ship had sailed. With a project that fast, it IS possible to send handmade cards. Well, at least to the ten card snobs on your list, anyway!
