…. sigh! It's sure not spring here! Just for a laugh I looked up the temps last year for today, and it was a high of 82. Granted, that was a record. But it's 10 right now and might get up to 19 if we're lucky. I saw the funniest cartoon yesterday–a newscaster had just pulled an ice cube of Puxatawny Phil out of a snowbank. I'd like to get my hands on that groundhog! Big fat liar!!
Anyway… someday it WILL be spring, and it can't be much more than a couple more weeks, even if winter doesn't want to relinquish it's grasp just yet. And then making butterfly cards will make more sense! I used Swallowtail, the new HUGE butterfly background stamp in the Spring 2013 Occasions Catalog, to make this card, along with another background stamp, En Francais.
TIP: You can't see, but there is Crystal Effects on the butterfly as well as Shimmer Paint, watered down with a little rubbing alcohol so it's not so opaque and applied with a paintbrush. Rather than spraying the whole thing with Shimmer Spray, the glimmer is subtle and selective that way!
