Blooming spring tulips

IMG_3544

It may still be frozen solid outside, with rumors of another visit from the dreaded polar vortex, but inside the stamp room it was spring for a couple of hours! I've been playing with my new Blessed Easter stamp (page 20 in the Spring 2014 Occasions Catalog) and enjoying those tulips, anyway, while we are still weeks away from seeing even the green shoots of my own.

We're making this elegant Crisp Cantaloupe card tonight at Calendar Club. it's simple enough to make on a production line, if you need a bunch for church friends. While I had all the supplies out, I grabbed some Crisp Cantaloupe ruffled trim and my En Francais background stamp and made the stepped-up version, below.

TIP: you may be wondering how I got the white color on the tulips and leaves. It's the new White Stampin' Chalk Marker (page 37, Spring 2014 Occasions Catalog). The marker is great for accenting colored images on dark cardstock, or embossed and colored images. I'm finding all sorts of uses for this inexpensive marker, apart from doing chalkboard techniques!

If you're ready for spring, too, let's get an order together of some nice, bright, playful new colors and rejuvenate your winter-blah-crafting! Click any link below to see the full item details.
