I've got more scrapbooking inspiration for you today–are you ready? Day Seven's spread is a historic moment for me… I finally used up the very last sheet of Kiwi Kiss cardstock in my possession! Kiwi Kiss was an In Color a LONG time back, so I've had this paper for years now. I am really glad I did, however, because in cleaning out my patterned paper stash, I found four little die-cut scallop envelopes in the Urban Garden papers that have Kiwi Kiss in them. So it worked out perfectly… I guess the moral of the story is never throw anything away!
Kiwi Kiss is VERY intense (hence why it's taken me years to use it up!), so I toned it down with a solid mat of Basic Gray, and then marched three of the envelopes across the bottom of one of the pages. I adhered them with the flaps open, and then made little tags to peek out so I can include journalling.
I used the fourth envelope to punch out several butterflies that I could scatter across the spread and help unify the two pages with the patterns.
I repeated the "three" motif in a couple other places as well, with the Small Butterfly punch and basic rhinestones. Here's a tip for you--professional designers often group odd numbers of items, because studies have shown that people prefer it as more pleasing to the eye. So if you have small items to group, try putting them in little cliques of three, five, seven or nine. It's amazing–it works!
Not going to do a supply list today since the majority of this spread uses retired items, but I did want to challenge you to look through your stash and find YOUR "three little envelopes" or whatever it is that you have been setting aside for several years now–and turn it into a page. Anything can be used as a motif. And any pattern or color scheme can be the inspiration for something really cute. Challenge yourself this week! I still have Urban Garden paper in my stash also. Guess I need to pull it out and see if I can use it too.
Love the envelopes! Perfect little place to put some journaling – just finished 8 pages of cruise pictures, so I will now look to see if I have an “event” where I can use this layout! I am absolutely LOVING this challenge!
This look reminds me of the chalkboard look that you see around lately. I still have a package of kiwi kiss, I better get moving on my stash!

I love these pages, green and blue together are gorgeous. And butterflies make it just perfect.
I can’t tell you how much I am enjoying these pages! They are exactly what I need to jump start me again after several months of not scrapbooking. Beautiful, but not so fussy that they will take a lot of time. They are also easily adaptable if I don’t happen to have all of the materials you used.
