31 Pages in 31 Days

Atthelakepage

I hope you're enjoying and participating in 31 Pages in 31 Days! It's a fabulous way to focus that mojo that has wandered off sometime in the last couple of years, for many of us. If you're a former, current, or wanna-be scrapper, I encourage you to play along and challenge yourself to accomplish a significant goal like this one, one day at a time!

Today's single page layout is one we'll be making in Scrapbooking Summer School. We're working with a busy tiny chevron pattern AND a page divided right down the middle, two things that stretch your creativity. To play along with this challenge, choose a solid color sheet for your background, and cut a 6×12 inch piece of something small-patterned for half your page. Then try to symmetrically arrange your photos and interest pieces using that central bisecting line as a ruler. Atthelakepagedetail

TIP: To break up the line and still retain the integrity of the grouping, you'll want to cross that center line just ONCE, like I did here with the bit of burlap and bitty wood buttons. This stops the eye from "falling" off the page as it follows that straight central line from top to bottom, and redirects the interest to the journalling tag, photos, and headline.

This central-line layout works with all types of colors, but you have to watch the patterns. With some patterns, half a sheet would be way too overwhelming. My page today uses Basic Kraft Cardstock and Hello Honey pattern from the 2014-16 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack. Here's a complete supply list so you can play along at home! Thanks for stopping by today–see you tomorrow for Day Fourteen!

  1. Thanks for posting tips on these pages….I am anxious for more pictures to arrive so I can keep going and getting all caught up before the end of August. I might not make it to 31 pages (unless I count that I’m doing mostly double of every page I make for my two kids). But, I will be all caught up and I might even have extra pages ready for pictures later down the road.
