Bird Banter Valentine Project

Bird Banter (page 42) made my first cut when ordering from the new Spring 2018 Occasions mini catalog. Which is kind of funny, when you consider that I am allergic to most birds! But I couldn't resist the cute little toucan and the sweet little lovebirds, and the sayings made me laugh. So it just jumped into my cart "somehow."

I have a feeling I'll be using the "Obviously, it wasn't an early bird," saying quite a lot!!!

This fun pencil holder project, perfect for classroom treats or Valentines, takes only minutes to make and would be a great craft for kids. Here are the EASY instructions, first seen in my Halloween blog series last fall. The only special tool necessary is the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

For the Bird Banter Valentine version, I added a punched topper with the 1.75 and 2-inch circle punches. Instead of patterned paper on the background, I stamped the little tropical leaves tone-on-tone in Melon Mambo ink. The glitter pencils were purchased at the Dollar Tree.

Well, this is just the first thing I've made with Bird Banter, but I'm excited to play. The samples in the catalog were totally delish… those colors!

Aren't those gorgeous colors yummy? Well, I'll see what else I can come up with, and who knows–maybe Bird Banter will jump into your shopping cart next time, too! Thanks for visiting today!
