I was playing around with some out of the box ideas for ways to use lace paper doilies on my cardfronts. I came up with four–actually FIVE– quick layouts I think you'll love! Give one of these a try and take the elegance up a notch, without adding a bunch of expense.
Idea #1 (above): Slice off two lace strips and add on opposite sides of card, topping with scalloped bits trimmed from the Everday Label punch.
Idea #2: cut a doily into quarters. Use in opposite corners, either adhering directly to corner (above lower) or folding edges over to tuck behind card for a more finished look (above upper).
Idea #3: cut thin slices off the scalloped edge (should get four from one doily). Adhere top and bottom along the left hand card edge; finish by adding the other two to make a continuous, ruffly border as seen above.
Idea #4: cut a generous slice off and adhere to lower left edge as shown, with a ribbon knot accent (can get three from one doily).
Idea #5: cut a doily in half, then trim each half off straight where the solid center of the doily ends. Adhere one at top and one at bottom of card, accented with a ribbon knot.
