31 Pages in 31 Days: Umpteenth Birthday

2015 31 Pages in 31 Days SOMHS header-001

Hey everyone! We're back with more scrapbooking inspiration for the 31 Pages in 31 Days challenge! It's Day Eleven already, can you believe it!? August is flying by! Today's page is one we will be making in Scrapbooking Summer School this Thursday, a vintage, black and white birthday layout.

Black and White Vintage Birthday Pagel

Inspired by file folders, I used the Envelope Punch Board to make two black and vanilla mats on which photos can be scattered randomly, or tucked under the paperclips which will be provided. It's a cute and casual look that goes really well with the vintage office accounting print on the background paper I chose, from the Typeset specialty Designer Series Paper pack.

This page has tons of texture, from the crinkled paper to some rough jute trim, basic metal button, thick twine and hair-like silver threads. I brought out the silver again with some staples and a scattering of silver sequins–just a few!

Love how the staples echo the office theme. I used the NEW Washi Label Punch to make a tab for my file folders, and the Project Life stamp set Day to Day for the additional date/day/year stamps. It is a MUST HAVE for scrapbookers!

So how is your page count coming along? Counting this page, I have 16 done already this month! That's 16 more than I got done last month, or the month before that, too! Immersion scrapbooking is the way to go, I've found! Especially if you don't have a designated craft room at your house, where you can leave things out to work on here and there. Set up a card table in the living room if you must, but give yourself the challenge of getting 31 Pages in 31 Days accomplished, and no matter what happens, you'll be further along at the end of the month than you were at the beginning.

Thanks for coming by today! I sell all these products, did you know that? Click on any link in the supply list below to go browsing for scrapbooky goodness in my online store. If you don't have a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I would be honored to be yours.
