I had the WORST time getting my camera to focus on these stripes for Day 13's 31 Pages in 31 Days inspiration page! It just would not take a clear picture. Oh well! You can still see the layout and the colors ok. We used the Project Life by Stampin Up accessory pack, Moments Like These, and the In Color Designer Series Paper stack.
I love diagonal stripes–so crisp and fresh! But in quantity, they can be dizziness-inducing! I had to close my eyes when I was counting out the sheets into the packets for Scrapbooking Summer School tonight. So I layered a big mat on the background page in the same color as the stripes.
TIP: to make a 11×11 mat for a busy background paper, use your Stampin' Trimmer to easily combine a full sheet of 8.5×11 plus one 11x 2.5 inch strip. You'll have a perfect one-inch border all the way around, and the bold patterns will be subdued.
That accessory pack is FULL of not only cute little Project Life cards, but exclusive coordinating embellishments and even washi tape to match. There is no "wrong way" to combine the elements. I love it! Who doesn't wish for fool-proof scrapbooking combos?
The color scheme for my page is a cool, summery coral and mint, with crisp white, basic black, and the trendy new dark version of taupe. So in Stampin'-Up-speak, that's Calypso Coral, Mint Macaroon, Whisper White, Basic Black and Tip Top Taupe!
Thanks so much for joining me on the 31 Pages in 31 Days blog series and challenge. See you back here tomorrow for Day Fourteen! Almost halfway through the month!
