31 Pages in 31 Days: Sunflower Birthday Page

2015 31 Pages in 31 Days SOMHS header-001

Hi everyone! Welcome back to 31 Pages in 31 Days! Thank you for joining Song of My Heart for our exclusive blog challenge series, especially for scrapbookers! The inspiration page for Day Five is a cute brown and yellow sunflower-themed birthday page. The colors are Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and Early Espresso, with Gold Glimmer and Gold Foil to bling it up a little.

Pretty straightforward layout, worked around a fun piece of painted burlap that I had left over from another project. I dug into the scrap bin for this page and found a fun circle frame left over from Christmas cards, and the glittery heart "negative" left over from punching out pieces of a card kit.

TIP: I'll often start a page using an outdated sample card front, or in this case the flower and pennant came off a card sample I just received at convention that fell apart when I got it home. (PS–there was no name on the back, so if it was yours, thank you for the page elements your pretty card provided!) It's a fantastic way to recycle those pretty creations you receive in the mail, especially if you have pictures to go with whatever occasion that the card was sent to you! And it also saves time because you already have a color scheme chosen for you.

Thanks so much for popping in today, and I hope you'll take the time to return each day in August to see more scrapbooking inspiration. Click here to view all of the accumulated several years' worth of 31 Pages in 31 Days… it's getting rather impressive, if I do say so myself! See you tomorrow for Day Six.
