Bonus! today's 'Silly Smiles' spread is actually two pages, not one (as in one per day for 31 days). I wonder how many actual count pages we will have by the end of this month? Exciting to see so much getting accomplished! Hope you're getting a jump start as you browse through the growing archive of the 31 Pages in 31 Days blog series!
Kids WILL be kids… and they WILL make goofy faces when you are trying to get their picture, so I say if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! One fun tip for photographing kids is to promise them they can do two crazy photos for every serious one you make them sit still for. And if you have a group of cousins or classmates, you can "bribe" them to be good for the serious photo by telling them you'll take a goofy closeup of each individual afterwards. It works!! I think I'll try it with my next group of grown-ups!
So above is the right hand page, and below is the left hand page. This spread is perfect for a bunch of silly smiles–either of your own dimpled darling or a whole host of them.
There's lots of room for plenty of photos on a layout like this! You can leave off a journalling box or some of the flowers if you need even more space. Don't have quite that many photos? No problem–the pretty patterned papers (from the 2011-13 In Color DSP Stack) are cute enough that you can just leave any unused squares blank, and it will look like you planned it that way.
The color scheme here is So Saffron, Perfect Plum, and Pool Party, a nice combination of cool and warm colors. I decorated my spread with flowers from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and matching Blossom Punch, accented by the Jumbo Basic Pearls and the regular Basic Pearls. Always add a little metal or bling to a page, along with a fiber or something to add texture. Don't leave home without it!
Here's a sketch for today's double-page layout…
Oh….Those are pretty. Thanks so much for all the great ideas!!!
