I just love August! For the past four years in a row, August has been an immersive scrapbooking experience, with Scrapbooking Summer School classes every week, and the blog challenge 31 Pages in 31 Days. I like August even better than Christmas : )
Thanks for joining us for today's inspiration page–and welcome to Song of My Heart, if it's your first time visiting! I had a VERY fun time creating this two-page layout, inspired by a bunch of large, square scraps I had on hand. It's really over-the-top, unapologetically, all things BABY!
My colors for this layout were Blushing Bride, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White. I had ONE piece of retired 12×12 Coastal Cabana left (sob!) so I had that be the left page, and a sheet of Blushing Bride striped Designer Series Paper be the right hand page. The stripes are bold, so I covered most of the page with photo mats, then echoed that pattern on the left hand page, leaving one piece rectangular instead of square, for the focal point photo.
I love using stamps on my pages but for headlines you can't beat a good old-fashioned Big Shot alphabet… the tone-on-tone Coastal Cabana was too strong, so I put my letters on punched circles so they popped out even more. I also coated the letters with Moonlight Smooch Ink so they are all glimmery.
So there we have it… a worthy use of my last piece of Coastal Cabana, I think! And now I have some exciting news for you! This two-page spread will be a part of a fundraising auction I am doing at the end of August. I will be auctioning off 20 scrapbooking layouts for charity! Details will be in my free weekly e-newsletter–make sure you are signed up to receive it!
Please share a list of he products that you used. I was hoping you would do a baby page. I am doing a scrapbook for each of my grandsons (4) with a layout for each month of their first year and ending with their first birthday. I only have one done, just need to do his first birthday page. so I am always looking for ways to finish the other pages that I need to do. I try to make them all different so they know that I was thinking of them individually while I put together their books without copying the same pages from one of the others. I will probably take out some of the pink in this one. But a great baby layout.
