31 Pages in 31 DaysQuiltsquarespread

Welcome to Day Two of Song of My Heart's summer blog series, 31 Pages In 31 Days! Every day during the month of August, I'll be posting a single or double page scrapbook layout for your inspiration. YOU CAN PLAY ALONG with us by challenging yourself to complete thirty-one pages, too, and posting your progress here or on Song of My Heart Stampers on Facebook. I also have set up a 31 Pages in 31 Days Facebook group, where you can even post pictures of your pages to inspire and encourage others who are taking the challenge, too!

Don't forget, each Friday in August there will be SCRAPBOOKER'S BLOG CANDY given away to one lucky winner from the week's comments here at the Song of My Heart blog. You can comment once on each entry in the series, so there will be 31 total chances you'll be picked as a winner–not too shabby!

Today's spread is a two-page layout with a quilt square look. All the squares are two inches by two inches, so this is a fantastic way to use up small scraps of patterned papers. Clean out that scrap bin!Quiltsquarespreaddetails

I used Pear Pizzazz 12×12 cardstock for the bases, and all the patterned papers come from a pack called Gold Soiree, one of the new Specialty Designer Series Papers for 2014-15.

TIP: This spread has a fun and unexpected little "shaker" square full of sequins and little heart punches that are loose inside a clear cello envelope. It's simple to do–just cut the envelope down to a little more than the size of your square, fill with small loose items, and fold the excess clear cellophane around to the back. Secure it with washi tape and adhere to your page with mini glue dots.

  3. Thi reminds me of a quilt my grandmother made that my boys sometimes use. Going to be a great scrapbook page for me for sure.
