I can't believe we're at 21 Days already! Is it just me or is August FLYING by? Welcome back to 31 Pages in 31 Days, my annual blog series focused on all things scrapbooking! Created in conjunction with my annual Scrapbooking Summer School, which runs on four consecutive Thursday nights this month, we are challenging ourselves to get a page per day accomplished in August. You can play along from home, too!
I love today's boy page! I had the Early Espresso background, Just Add Cake Designer Series Papers, and Wild Wasabi all laid out, but it needed more pop. I originally thought yellow, but orange is more up to date, so Pumpkin Pie became the pop! And then by accident a piece of Marina Mist scrap cardstock was lying there and I loved what it added, so that got incorporated into the mix.
My big circles were created using the 3 inch and 3.5 inch circle dies for the Big Shot. I got to work in my new fave scrapbooking accessory, the Chevron punch, and some Candy Dots and a tiny tab of chevron ribbon as embellishments. The Hexagon punch made a cute tab for the top of the main photo mat. I finished it off with a sentiment from the adorable Yippee-Skippie stamp set in Marina Mist ink. Here's the rest of the sayings in that set. I think they're hilarious!
This layout can hold three to four photos depending on the size and how many of the circles you fill with journaling, or just one really special picture. I love to create versatile layouts for class, that can work for any number of photos. It makes it even easier for my attendees to quickly finish their pages off with photos and journaling when they get home from class.
LOVING all the comments thus far! Keep 'em coming! And to encourage you to leave some love, I'm giving away blog candy this month, and you can win if your name is drawn from all the commenters this week. Leave one comment per 31 Pages in 31 Days post to enter the maximum number of times.
See you tomorrow for Day 22!
I love the colors on this page. I also love the layered circles. 😀 I haven’t done circles yet for my sister’s book…hmm…thinking of how to translate that into one of her pages. Thanks for the inspiration!
love the hexagon flag!
Great choice to use pumpkin pie and marina mist for a ‘pop’. I like the chevron punch, too. Nice layout.
I really like this page. It’s not my usual style but maybe I’m starting to change because of all the great ideas I’m seeing. I’m always afraid to add to many embellishments or colors on a spread for fear that it will look to busy. Now I’m starting to think that I could go back to some old pages and add more on to them, push it from a nice spread to a fantastic spread. What do you think?
Do it, Kathy! Sometimes it just takes one thing to take a page from “perfectly fine” to “wowie-kazaam!” There is power in numbers. One brad makes very little difference visually and will get lost in the shuffle, but three brads in a row is an accent piece that draws the eye.
Yippee skippee is on my wish list! Also thought the orange looks better then the yellow. Very nice page
I think I love this layout the best so far that is ! LOL I love the green!!!
