Hey friends! Great to have you back with us for Day Two of 31 Pages in 31 Days, our annual scrapbooking challenge. Whether you have time to play along and push yourself to get some pages done and in those albums, or you have to sit on the sidelines and pin ideas for later, you're in the right place!
Today's inspiration page is a double layout celebrating a garden! For those of you who heard about how we got home from our vacation to find our neighbors had taken it on themselves to chop down our lilac bushes, this is a little ironic! Wanna see something sad?
Well, what's done is done… and they're pretty hardy, so I'm hoping they come back. Lilacs are what I usually get for Mother's Day every year and these were two of the earliest ones we planted after we moved in 16 years ago.
Let's move on to a happier topic! But don't forget to scrap the bad things, too. Like family photos at a funeral, sometimes the occasion is sad and hard, but there can be good lessons and joyful moments alongside the tears.
This was my first experience spelling out a sentence with the Make A Difference alphabet stamp set. I was so pleased at how nicely the letters lined up! Being clear photopoloymer is perfect for joining the little tails of the font to make it look handwritten. Well, better than handwritten, let's be honest!
The layout for this page is from Scrapbooker's One-Sheet Wonders Volume 1, Layout #1. If you haven't tried those yet, you'll love how each volume teaches you how to cut up single 12×12 sheets of patterned paper to decorate full-sized double-page layouts. There are six volumes in all, available here. It's my #1 economical tip for scrappers!
Thanks for joining us today! I hope to see you back here tomorrow for our 3rd of 31 days and our first GIVEAWAY! Spread the word!
This layout is just lovely, Lyssa. And the lilacs will come back even bushier & more healthy. I know… when I was little, my dad cut ours almost level with the ground. He was wanting a view out our big living room windows. I was sick… to me, lilacs are second only to lily of the valley which we had as well. The lilacs came back so big & lush in a just a couple years. Hope this helps ease the shock & pain a wee bit 😉
This is a beautiful page! I love the look of the Make A Difference stamps. I have been worried about lining them up. So sorry for your Lilac bushes. That would have ruined my day.
I have the perfect pictures for this layout from a garden show I went to in May. Love it!
I love all the little details very nice
