I can't count… and this page is a testament to that fact! I pulled together this teenage boy birthday page from extra bits and pieces of which I accidentally cut or punched too many for various past projects. I keep them all in a clear clamshell stamp case and often raid it when I need a little something to perk up a project. All this stuff was in there, even the glimmer paper punches!!
This diagonal layout is a great way to get a lot of ka-pow from a half sheet of patterned paper or a couple of 6×6 pieces. Instead of using it horizontally or vertically (boring) it's at a strong diagonal, which guides the eye straight to the central photo.
The curvy swirls help soften that sharp line a little, and the brightly colored mats make sure the eye stops at the photo and doesn't continue to travel right up and off the page. Love little design hints like these!
Wish the sparkle showed up better! But you can get a little idea of how the Glitter Enamel Dots sprinkled around help ground the page and dissimulate the color scheme more evenly, while adding some pizzazz (but not too much, it's a boy page!)
Goodness, Day 29 is a wrap, and tomorrow's the 30th already! It's been so fun to have you along as I scrapped my way through 31 Pages in 31 Days. Please share the final week's giveaway link with any friends that might be interested–four packs of paper is a FUN BOOST to anyone's stash!
Happy Scrappin'!
