31 Pages in 31 Days 2018: Day One

31 Pages 2018-001

Welcome to the first post in our month-long blog series, 31 Pages in 31 Days! We are in for a FUN month! Scrapbookers are going to be in hog heaven over the pages, and cardmakers will love all the cool little details that can be adapted for their creations, too.

Here's how it works–every day in August 2018 I post an inspiration page. You can copy it exactly, if you want, or strike out on your own. Whatever works for you. The goal is to get 31 pages done by the end of the month.

Join our annual Facebook group to share pics of your progress! Or just to see what everyone's making, if you don't have time to join the challenge right now.

Without further ado, here's today's inspiration page! It's a single-page washi-tape layout for the amazing young lady in your life. In my case, it's for my daughter, who starts high school at the end of the month!

Ok, so here's how it works. Today's page features several different ways you can go with the inspiration and yet create a layout all your own.

  1. use coordinating washi tape to create a background above and below a large photo
  2. recreate the layout itself, with the little "filmstrip" element (die cut using Layering Squares) and headline (Celebrate You thinlets)
  3. snag the color combo (Powder Pink, Blushing Bride, Berry Burst, Very Vanilla and Gold Foil)
  4. recycle the metallic trims and use of small scattered embellishments (sequins, pearls, etc)

Get the idea? I hope you have fun with today's layout! And I hope you'll pin and subscribe or bookmark this blog so you can easily find your way back here each day in August as we continue with our challenge.

Along the way, you'll see lots of pages made by my Scrapbooking Summer School class, too. Those will be clearly marked, and after you see them, I bet you'll want to join us next year! Everything we use will be available from Stampin' Up, and if you don't already have a demonstrator serving you, I'd love it if you'd consider me your demo! http://bit.ly/shopwithLyssa

Can I share a secret? I couldn't WAIT to get back from Alaska and dive into this project. Hee hee! What can I say? I missed my craft cave! It's just a scrapbooker's bonanza around here! ENJOY.
