31 Pages in 31 Days 2016: Day Twenty-Three

Welcome back, scrappers! We are trucking our way to the finish line on August 31st! I've already blown past my goal by a LOT of pages–can't wait to post the final count! How are you doing? Today's inspiration page is for a recital… I had piano in mind when I made it, but it would work for anything.

Hard to beat the classic color combo of black and white with a splash of fire engine red! I added a lot of sparkly glam to the page with rhinestone strips and a headline die-cut from Dazzlin' Diamonds Glimmer Paper (wish all the bling showed up in the photos better!)

 I used a retired Sizzix Bigz die set for my alphabet letters, but you can use the new Large Letters Framelits or cut letters on your Cricut, too. It's all good!

That's it from me today–would you believe my oldest has high school orientation tonight? I'm more than a little freaked out by that! I think if I wasn't already having a nervous breakdown, this week would have done me in. My heart goes out in a new way to all my fellow moms who are sending their babies off to college this time of year. It goes SO fast!

If you think about it, though… that's all the more reason to scrapbook, right? So those incredibly precious, fleeting seconds, emotions too big for the moment, can be preserved. I'd call that a worthy task. Godspeed us all.
