31 Pages 31 Days 2016-001

Welcome back, scrappers! We are trucking our way to the finish line on August 31st! I've already blown past my goal by a LOT of pages–can't wait to post the final count! How are you doing? Are you playing along? Leave a comment and let me know if you're enjoying the series and pinning some ideas for the next occasion you have time to sit down and craft a bit.

Today's inspiration page is for a recital… I had piano in mind when I made it, but it would work for anything.

Hard to beat the classic color combo of black and white with a splash of fire engine red! I added a lot of sparkly glam to the page with rhinestone strips and a headline die-cut from Dazzlin' Diamonds Glimmer Paper (wish all the bling showed up in the photos better!)

If you'd like to recreate this easy set of pages at home along with my Scrapbooking Summer School participants, here's the supplies necessary:

I used a retired Sizzix Bigz die set for my alphabet letters, but you can use the new Large Letters Framelits or cut letters on your Cricut, too. It's all good!

That's it from me today–would you believe my oldest has high school orientation tonight? I'm more than a little freaked out by that! I think if I wasn't already having a nervous breakdown, this week would have done me in. My heart goes out in a new way to all my fellow moms who are sending their babies off to college this time of year. It goes SO fast!

If you think about it, though… that's all the more reason to scrapbook, right? So those incredibly precious, fleeting seconds, emotions too big for the moment, can be preserved. I'd call that a worthy task. Godspeed us all.

  1. Black and white is always such a great starting point, and then you can add any color for the pop. I have some old pictures from piano competitions that would be perfect for this exact layout – thanks for the inspiration! Love the rhinestone “photo corner” accents, a great way to use up those long strips.

  2. In the closeup of the Recital letters the glimmer shows up a little! We get the idea!
Thanks for the inspiration! Good job!

  3. Love the colors. Those rhinestones in the corner are perfect for an idea for a card that needed just something in the corner and I think that is it!
