31 Pages 31 Days 2016-001

Hi everyone! Welcome to my annual blog series, 31 Pages in 31 Days, 2016 Edition! Every day in August I post an inspiration page as a jump start, and you can follow along and chat with others taking the challenge on the Facebook support group. You can join the group even if you're not up to the challenge this month, just to see the ideas for next time! The galleries are already FULL of pages people are creating–love it! Who says scrapbooking is dead? Don't believe it!

Today's inspiration page makes me want to go to the BEACH!

I had a lot of these strips leftover from another project that had used some awkward, inefficient paper measurements, so I'm really glad to have found a use for them! This picture is a bit washed out, but the color scheme is a super fun one you have GOT to try.

I think I like this beach-towel-inspired page just about as well as any I've made this month! Doesn't it just make you want to go hang out at the pool? It was fun to create sandy, spotty "interference" in the background with my Swirly Bird stamps and ink, to break up the crispness and also to suggest bubbles in the water. And the Crushed Curry yellow adds some nice contrast to all the cool colors with a pop of intensity.

I use mine to make chevrons in any color and size I need. Just insert your paper strip into the punch and create your banner end. Leave the strip in the punch after punching. Push it further in and punch again, push and punch, push and punch until you have all the chevrons you need. What a fantastic way to transform scraps, too!

I hope you've enjoyed today's inspiration page and are planning to come back tomorrow for more!
