Hi everyone! Welcome to my annual blog series, 31 Pages in 31 Days, 2016 Edition! Every day in August I'll be posting an inspiration page as a jump start, and you can follow along and chat with others taking the challenge on the Facebook support group. You can join even if you're not up to the challenge this month, just to see the ideas for next time! The galleries are already FULL of pages people are creating–love it! Who says scrapbooking is dead? Don't believe it!
Scrapbooking Summer school is off and running this month with another cute, practical layout. Wait until you hear how easy it is!
I LOVE symmetrical layouts, and this one makes me super happy because each page is comprised of four 4×6 inch rectangles and one 2×2 inch square for the middle. Impossible to screw up! And zero wasted paper.
TODAY'S TIP: Save time by buying paper in packs instead of single sheets. I chose the Pop of Pink Designer Series Papers and cut all my rectangles, then flipped some of them over to the other side to get a total of five different patterns on one page. I really like how mixing patterns from a single pack of DSP (as we call it in the trade!) always looks awesome, because they were professionally designed to coordinate. Less work for me!
Been dying to use my new Sunshine Sayings stamp set and coordinating Sunshine Wishes Thinlet die-cuts for the Big Shot, and the tiny hearts on this page provided the perfect excuse to use the "love" saying. It fits right inside the two-inch circle punch, which was serendipity!
Ready to recreate the Love & Hugs page at home? Here's what you'll need:
I hope you turn off the computer and go get in the craft room and make this layout! It's so refreshing to find practical and pretty ideas that don't require hours to complete, isn't it? If you like more economical layouts like this one, check out my Scrapbooker's One-Sheet Wonder templates. The collections (there are three volumes now) are getting RAVE reviews from scrappers all over the world. Scrapping doesn't have to break the bank!
Thanks for joining us today–see you tomorrow for Day Seven of #31pagesin31days here at Song of My Heart.
Love this layout – the DSP really makes it easy to mix and match patterns. I can picture this same spread using any of the other DSP packs, and all the pages will look totally different.
This is my absolute favorite layout so far!! I can see using this with so many different styles of paper!! The pink and the black together are just stunning!
I love the circles!!! And I can’t wait to try some on a layout.
I love the colors on this page and the different sizes in the circles.
Love how simple & modern this page looks!
I love the colors on this layout, but would need to make it simpler. It looks a little bit to busy for me.
I love this DSP! It’s in my order that is supposed to arrive today. let’s hope.
I love the pink color. Can’t wait to use it for a little girl page.
