had to share this very cool project from my last Incredible Cards Club meeting. I am also planning on making these for a one-layer card swap at Leadership Convention in January. I hope it will WOW the very talented participants of that swap!
Start with Confetti White or another neutral cardstock that is thicker than regular Whisper White or Very Vanilla. Stamp the solid image from the large flower in Wonderful You along the right hand side of the back page of the INSIDE of the card in Cameo Coral. Then use your Stamp A Ma Jigg (I know you have one!) to line up the outline in Chocolate Chip.
Use a ruler to line up where you want your bookmark to go, and run the perforating tool of your Cutter Kit along it to help you get a nice straight line (the Wheel Guide works, too). Be careful not to press the perforator tool too deeply into the paper, or your perforations will be large and fragile. Put a self-healing mat or a piece of cardboard underneath where you are cutting, so that you don't risk damaging your table.
Tear off the right hand edge of the FRONT of the card, so that the entire flower bookmark shows, but try to leave the perforated line still covered, so that the bookmark is a surprise when they open it, for one reason, and for the second reason, the perforations will hold up better with that additional stability when the card is closed.
Then randomly stamp the cover of the card with the flower and outline images. I didn't bother lining them up at all and I loved the Hawaiian-shirt effect I got. Adding Cameo Coral liberally with sponges also helped soften the card inside and out. Lastly, I set a jumbo eyelet with the Crop A Dile and added Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon in the classic bookmark knot.
Easy card–great results–inexpensive, too.
