I got the new Shimmer Detailed laser-cut specialty paper pack because I've had soooo much fun with Stampin' Up's ready-to-go lace sheets in the past. But I got to the little lacy squares on this one sheet and they weren't as easy to use as some of the border strips and silhouette pieces. Once I sat down to play, however, I think you'll agree they turned out well!
I used the same color scheme, stamps and punches since I had the mess out from making these earlier Daisy Lane cards.
The frames provided a beautiful textured background that was a nice change from a flat cardstock layer. The white (I used the white side of the lace: it is doubled-sided) helped tone down the "hot" coral color and cool it off for summer.
Another way to use the little lace squares is to frame your sentiment. I liked the way this one helps bring the eye into focus
PRO TIP: Some of the pieces have more open area in the middle than others. If your chosen sentiment doesn't fit inside the space, trim some of the flowers or scallops back until it does.
As for adhesive, I recommend a liquid glue like Tombow Multi or the Fine-Tip glue pen. Depending on the design, there's room to use Glue Dots, too. And if you like the "floating frame" look, use either mini Dimensionals or the long thin edges of the regular Dimensional sheets. FUN!
I can't wait to see how YOU use these new shimmery sheets! They're so convenient when I don't feel like messing with dies. Plus, I can still get the details and textures I love without having to invest in anything but a pack of paper!
