Rue Des Fleurs sneak peek!

I have a little treat for you today on the first day of December! I have been waiting patiently since Founder's Circle to show this to you–can't share the stamp set or show the Big Shot dies yet, but I can show you what I made with this Rue Des Fleurs "Street of Flowers" set, now that our demonstrator pre-ordering period for the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog has started.

This is a Vintage Nouveau set, quirky sayings and images in a High Victorian art style. Those of you who like the "steampunk" style are going to enjoy this one, for sure! If all these terms are wandering around in your head getting acquainted, check out this FREE PDF on Vintage Style for lots of great info on what makes vintage look vintage, and suggestions for products, techniques, and stamp art styles to help you get that look.

For this card I stamped and then colored the corset with Stampin' Pastels chalks on tissue, then did the faux silk technique and scratched it here and there with my hobby blade. That was fun! The second card uses all the same techniques except it is very heavily weathered, water-spotted and distressed. Also fun.

TIP: The lacy impression on the Top Note shape is actually a Large Sizzlet called Paper Doily, also a Founder's Circle goodie and something new to Stampin' Up's line of Big Shot accessories. I used it here without any tabs on the Multipurpose Platform, so it just etched itself into the cardstock without actually cutting. COOL BEANS! Nice when you want some interest and texture without adding a lot of busy-ness to a card. Color scheme: Bashful Blue (or Baja Breeze), Bravo Burgundy, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Always Artichoke.

I can promise you many more NEW Big Shot things in the Occasions Mini Catalog!! You are going to be SO glad that this mini catalog falls during Sale A Bration 2012, because you're gonna want to order it all, and you're gonna get freebies when you do!! WHOO HOO! Book your SAB party NOW! And stay tuned for more FAB-OO-LUSS sneak peeks from the upcoming mini catalog.
