Ready for Christmas? We’re getting there!

At Christmas Club on Monday night, we all agreed we feel very virtuous getting such a head start on our Christmas projects this year! We each made twelve of these cards and will be making twelve more each month for three months.

I am trying to make a good variety of designs so there will be something to appeal to everyone. They seemed to really enjoy the quilted Top Note card made in Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz with Garden Green. It's kinda country, but in bright, modern colors–we call that style Retro Mod.

I also had to work in my favorite Christmas color combo of Rich Razzleberry, Silver embossing powder and Whisper White. Awesome with the new rhinestones! And just a wee dab of Shimmer Spray… couldn't resist! (Snow Swirled stamp set)

The last card was actually MY favorite. You know how crazy I am about the Newsprint DSP. I had to find a way to work it in.

It's not easy to see in the photo, but the dove is painted a pearly white with Smooch Accent ink, which really made the whiteness pop from the antiqued background. Love the combo of Riding Hood Red with Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand. (Gifts of Christmas stamp set)

I'd be ever so pleased if you and your friends wanted to book a Christmas Club of your very own. We can start with just four members, so let me know if you can grab a couple of friends who want to get a headstart on their Christmas projects and make meaningful, beautiful cards BEFORE they get so stressed out that it gets bumped off their holiday to-do list. We could also just have a workshop with Christmas cards as well–just book it soon so there's time for people to receive their orders and still be able to make their cards!

  1. Beautiful cards! I may case a couple of these for Volume II of my Christmas Card Camp. I will need to change up colors slightly and stamp sets used. My CCC Vol 1 is set for this weekend, one event Saturday and one on Sunday. I hope my customers like the cards I’ve designed. I think they will!

  2. It’s so easy, Shannen! You just take a scratch piece of cardstock and cover it with little squares of DSP. If you use one inch squares, you’ll need four across and five down in order to cut a Top Note shape out.
After you cut the Top Note on the Big Shot, then texturize it with an embossing folder. I really like the Petals A Plenty one for this purpose. Looks just like fabric when you’re done!
