Hard to beat the ease of square punches and the faux pinwheel technique for a really elegant wow! The focal point is so striking you really don't have to do much else with the card. I added a punched flower, vintage faceted button, and a sentiment to this simple birthday card and it was done in a flash.
The faux folded banner is super easy to do. Stamp and cut out your saying, then cut a strip just a hair shorter than the same height and about an inch longer than your saying.
Notch the edges of the longer strip with scissors or a square punch, then layer the stamped sentiment centered on top of it. Bingo! it looks like you folded it, but you didn't have to mangle the tiny bits of paper to get the same look of dimension. AND it's flat for mailing, too!
I love easy tips like that, don't you? That's cardmaking for real people. Thanks so much for coming by Song of My Heart today. Hope to see you tomorrow for another really cute thing you can do with the faux pinwheel technique!
