Enjoy these pages from the November 2010 Scrap A Stack Club! Do you enjoy scrapbooking, but seem to have little time these days? Set aside one day a month to come and get something accomplished with us! We meet on the second Thursday night of the month.
We started the night off with this simple single page layout, because the Shimmer paint needed to dry on the chipboard letters we cut out on the Big Shot, using the Simple Alphabet letters and numbers. Some headlines that others cut out for their own page included "family," "sparkle," and the year. I kep the layout very simple so that the photo would really shine. The patterned paper is from a pack that is included in the Holiday Bundle Special–check it out! It's called Jolly Holiday.
We used the fun Join in the Cheer strip die for the Big Shot on this page, along with my new favorite strip die, Northern Flurry. I just love how it cuts out eight different snowflakes at once! To make the headline a SNAP to adhere, I used the multipurpose adhesive sheets on the back of my cardstock (Whisper White) before we ran it through the machine. Just one easy extra step, and it took several minutes worth of frustration out of the evening!
Very faintly, using Bashful Blue ink on the background cardstock of the same color, we stamped the large flourish from Baroque Motifs to kind of gussy it up, with a Decorative Label punch and the Tags 'Til Christmas set, also on sale right now! There's Shimmer Paint used as a spray on this page as well as Basic Rhinestones. Nothing like Christmas to bring out the bling!
The last spread also used the Jolly Holiday papers, this time in long, one-inch wide strips. We layered them around to make a border, and added two tags–one that says "All Spruced Up" from Fast & Fun Notes and one left blank for journalling. They're accented with the Scallop Trim punch, jumbo eyelets, corner rounder punch, Certainly Celery satin ribbon, and Hemp Twine. I also threw in some fun large Star Brads from the Clearance Rack!
I love Scrap A Stack and look forward to it all month long. You could, too! Call me today to RSVP, or to chat about starting a scrapbooking club with you and your girlfriends.
Beautiful pages, Lyssa. Have a question about the first one on your blog; will this just be a single page or is there a coordinating page for it that you didn’t show? It’s too pretty not to have a full pair of pages.
This was a single page, sorry, Carol! There are lots of different single-page layouts in my Scrapper’ Sketches, though, if you wanted to turn it into a double-page. Sometimes I also make the exact same layout and then just rotate it a quarter or a half turn before I put in my photos.
Great layout with the snowflakes! Now I have to get the Join in the Cheer die (so glad it is on sale)!
