Some of you will see the word "viewmaster" in your blog reader this morning and not even click on the link to see the rest of the article, because viewmaster cards have such a rep for being a PAIN in the neck! Well, no longer is that the case! Here is one from the area demo meeting (I am so sorry I don't know whose project it was, maybe one of my sidelines or uplines can chime in here) that is so stinkin' easy, you might just change your mind… call me crazy, but I'm planning to do these for a Leadership Conference swap!
All you do is make a square 5×5 card to fit in one of our square 5.25 envelopes, and cut yourself one Scallop Circle of cardstock with whatever DSP you want glued to the top, using the largest Scallop Circle Bigz die for the Big Shot. If you don't have this one yet, I can tell you honestly it is the most versatile die I own next to the Top Note!
Next you'll need to use your Circle Scissors or Coluzzle to make a circle that will be entirely hidden by the scallop circle. Stamp your images (these are from Jolly Bingo Bits, page 24 in the Holiday Mini Catalog) around the edge of the circle (depending on size, you can fit five images or so around the perimeter.) Adhere that dead center on your card.
Punch your viewing window near the edge of the scallop circle, and use your paper piercer to make a hole for the brad in the direct center of the circle. Take your time to make sure it is the direct center, or your viewmaster card will wobble in a lopsided and quite comical circle as it goes around!
Center your scallop circle over the circle with the images on it and press the brad through the cardstock. Flatten the prongs on the back and work the spinner around several times to loosen it up and allow it to spin easily.
That is literally IT!! Now, wasn't that light years easier than the other viewmaster cards you have seen? And just as cute. You can find the Jolly Holiday DSP, the Jolly Bingo Bits (and Bingo Card) stamps, the Scallop Circle die, Big Shot and everything else you'd need to make your own easy viewmaster cards at my shopping website, www.lyssa.stampinup.net
And don't forget to give your significant other your stampin' wish list with my name, number and email, all filled out and ready to go! Take it easy on the poor guy and help him get you something you'd really use this year.
Lyssa,
Sue Coomber (may be spelled wrong) brought this to the meeting.
This is great! I think I can even try it with my kids class!
What a super fab idea! TFS. Hugs xxaxx
