As I promised yesterday in my truck cards post, here is my first playtime with the TOTES ADORBS tiny Truck Ride dies. They are just so cute! I made mine with Pool Party cardstock and added color with Stampin' Blends and the White Chalk Marker.
I know you're looking at this and wondering–how long do they take? It was pleasantly EASY to put together, because the whole truck is all die-cut in one piece, with the little tabs to glue it into the shape. The wheel covers, wheels and a little fender (not shown) are extras you can either stamp directly on the truck, or stamp and die-cut like I did.
I'd say plan a minute or so for each plain truck, two or three minutes if you plan to add the extras and coloring. The tabs are smallish; plan on Liquid Multi glue instead of Tear N Tape or Snail.
The next thing I know you're wondering is, how much cardstock does it take? I was pleasantly surprised by this as well. It takes just over a quarter sheet of cardstock, so you can get two trucks plus accessories out of a sheet. Nice!! Nobody likes waste!
I decided I wanted old-fashioned wooden sides on my truck, so I die-cut an extra "truck bed" bit that has long embossed lines, which resemble wood boards. If you cut the truck bed in half, it is just about the right height to glue to the insides of the truck back. SO CUTE!
The third thing I know you're wondering about these trucks is, what can I put in the back??? Well, chocolate (duh) would be a natural, as would jellybeans, stacked Starbursts, M&M's, etc. I was going to show it with Rolos but I ate them… sorry folks. It was one of those days I ate everything I could get my lips around.
I had a lot of fun looking for things that fit. If the object(s) are too heavy, the truck will do an involuntary wheelie and flip over on its back like a turtle. So stick with light things, like the adorable stamp & die-cuts that come with the bundle, a funny eraser or magnet, or a few things in a tiny cello bag tied with twine.
Now you're wondering, how big is this baby truck, exactly? it's TINY!!! I should have taken a picture with it in the palm of my hand, but here's a size comparison with the smallest size clear block (A) in the back. Now all my other clear blocks are jealous that the Baby got to go for a ride.
And the fifth thing you need to know about the Ride With Me bundle? Where to get it!!! Well surprise, surprise, I sell it in my store : ) All this adorableness can be in YOUR stamp room in about a week. Click here to shop with Lyssa! And stay tuned for more trucky cuteness because there is more to come!
