Well, here we have it… the official last pictures of our Fiji trip. Does that mean it's really over? A big shout-out to my stampin' sisters Wendy and Cheryl for changing their plans and adding jet-skiing to their day when they found out how badly I wanted to go and how chicken I was to do it by myself! I had never been jetskiing but always wanted to try it. I do love to go FAST… and they don't usually hand out speeding tickets on the ocean, I figure!
However, once push came to shove, I was pretty nervous! Here I am biting my nails before we hopped on. I will admit I went pretty SLOW the first time around the course. I watched Wendy and Cheryl rocket around the buoys and though, I've gotta kick it into high gear or they're gonna actually LAP me!
Pretty soon I was rocketing around the ocean, too! Oh, it was so much fun, you can't imagine, if you've never been. I LOVED it! It was so exhilarating. You should have heard me shrieking with laughter and whooping it up out there! You would have KNOWN I was a total looney toon!
After a bit I was even confident enough to pry my fingers from the handle and wave at Mike, who was taking photographs with a long lens from the shore. I appreciate Wendy and Cheryl forwarding these photos after they got back from an extended trip to Australia after the Fiji trip.
It was so incredibly gorgeous. I wished I could just take off and zip to the distant mountains. When our time was up I didn't want to come in. I couldn't feel my arms from gripping so hard so I was going even faster because my fingers were too numb to properly control the gas! My last time around the course I was trying to go as fast as I possibly could, and hit a big wake from a passing speedboat. I actually went airborne! I came down so hard I bet my chiropractor got dollar signs in his eyes and I got drenched from head to toe. Dumb? Of course! But sooooo fun!! Since I survived, and all. Hee hee!
I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried this! I am officially addicted to jetskiing now. I can't wait to try it with my dad in the Caribbean next May. Just call me Lyssa "Speed Demon" Zwolanek! Thanks for sharing my vacation pics and letting me ramble about our trip of a lifetime. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the people who made this possible–Shelli and Stampin' Up, of course, and my husband and family and supportive parents and in-laws–my team and my mentors–and YOU, my dear customer friends.
Thank you for allowing me to see the wonder that is Fiji. Thank you for a week's honeymoon with my beloved hardworking husband. Thank you for how fun you make my whole year as I'm working for these trips. You fill my life with laughter, friendship and inspiration. I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart.
Sounds like a great time! I know the feeling of feeling so free! I have stories of my first time, but can’t post here! 🙂
Woohoo!! Looks like a blast!
I am so off-balance and top heavy that on a snowmobile I didn’t get past the first ruts and fell over sideways. Thinking – Jet Ski is NOT for me.
But if YOU can do it, then it’s a double-dare and I will be there with bells on. And swim suit; I’m old – remind me again about the swim suit . .
Love this post! I laughed out loud at your chiropractor comment. Jet ski is something my husband and I want to try when we go to Hilton Head in September. I have really enjoyed all your Fiji photos and am so happy you got to go. Well-earned, well-deserved, Lyssa!
