Drowning in scraps… a “green” solution

I finally sat down and cleaned out my scrap bucket last week during the Head Cold to End All Head Colds. There wasn't much else I was good for that week, and I honestly couldn't fit another single solitary scrap in that bucket without the whole thing being in imminent danger of falling over and burying a small child in the rubble. So, it was time.
I sort my scraps by general color–red/pinks, orange/yellows, blues, green, browns/blacks, etc. and I use those great plastic stamp set cases to put them in. Not only are they nice and flat and stackable, they are clear, so you can see exactly what's in them and you tend to actually USE your scraps. BUT… in the heat of the moment, I often just toss scraps in a clear plastic shoe box "bucket"  and plan to sort them later. MUCH later…. like six months to a year….
The above photo is all 3×3 cards I composed of scraps cleaned out of that bucket! The only thing I stamped from scratch was the Oval Alls sentiment on the Tempting Turquoise card in the upper left corner. Everything else I had in the backet–all kinds of fun stuff–some of it from quite a while back, as you can see. It felt very good and "green" to be using up all these odds and ends of cardstock and DSP scraps, bits of chipboard and various punches. I even used up a large portion of my ribbon ends, likewise kept in a clear case.
